Description
The pectoralis major is a large, fan-shaped muscle located in the chest. It originates on the clavicle, the sternum, and the costal cartilages of the ribs, and inserts on the humerus.
The main function of the pectoralis major is to adduct, flex, and medially rotate the arm at the shoulder joint. It also assists in stabilizing the shoulder joint and helping to maintain posture.
