Exercise Description:
The bird dog exercise is a core strengthening exercise that targets the muscles in the back, buttocks, and legs. To perform the bird dog, start on all fours with your hands under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. Keep your back flat and engage your abdominal muscles to stabilize your spine.
From this starting position, extend one arm forward and the opposite leg backward, keeping them both straight. Hold this position for a few seconds, then return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
The bird dog exercise can help to improve stability and balance, and can also help to improve posture and prevent back pain. It's important to keep your back flat and your abdominal muscles engaged throughout the exercise to get the full benefit. You can make the exercise more challenging by holding a weight in your extended arm or leg.
