Exercise Description:
The step-up exercise is a simple and effective way to strengthen the muscles of the legs and buttocks.
To perform this exercise, you will need a step or bench that is at least knee-height. Stand in front of the step with your feet hip-width apart and your hands on your hips. Place one foot on the step and push through that foot to raise your body up onto the step. Step back down with the same foot, and repeat on the other side.
The step-up exercise can be done with or without added weight, such as dumbbells or a barbell, to increase the difficulty. This exercise is a good way to improve lower body strength and can be incorporated into a variety of strength training routines.
