Description
The plantar interossei are a group of three muscles located in the foot. They originate on the sides of the metatarsal bones and insert on the extensor expansion of the toes.
The main function of the plantar interossei is to adduct the toes at the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joints. This allows the toes to be brought closer together and move towards the second toe.
