Description
The palmaris longus is a long, thin muscle located in the forearm. It originates on the medial epicondyle of the humerus and the anterior and posterior fascia of the forearm, and inserts on the palmar aponeurosis and the flexor retinaculum of the hand.
The main function of the palmaris longus is to flex the wrist and to assist in flexion of the fingers. It works together with the other flexor muscles of the forearm to allow for precise and controlled movements of the hand and fingers.
