Description
The palmar interossei are a group of three muscles located in the hand. They originate on the sides of the metacarpal bones and insert on the extensor expansion of the fingers.
The main function of the palmar interossei is to abduct the fingers at the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joints. This allows the fingers to be spread apart and move away from the middle finger.
