Description
The Opponens Digiti Minimi is a small, triangular muscle located in the hand. It originates on the lateral side of the metacarpal bone of the little finger, and inserts on the lateral side of the phalanges (the bones of the fingers) of the little finger.

The main function of the Opponens Digiti Minimi is to flex the little finger at the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint and to adduct the little finger towards the other fingers. This allows the little finger to be brought closer to the other fingers, which is important for maintaining balance and stability when gripping objects.
