Exercise Description:
The cat stretch is a stretching exercise that targets the muscles of the back, hips, and core. It is typically performed on the ground or on a mat on all fours with your hands and knees shoulder-width apart. To perform the exercise, you will need to start in a tabletop position with your back flat and your hips in line with your shoulders and knees. From there, you will need to round your back, tucking your chin to your chest and bringing your hips up and back. Be sure to breathe deeply and relax your muscles as you stretch. You can hold the stretch for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or for as long as is comfortable. To release the stretch, simply reverse the movement and return to the starting position.
